About Us

Woodridge Music Studio, LLC., is a private music studio owned,
operated, and directed by Lauri Wood since 2007.

Lauri and her daughter Carly (Wood) Fitzgerald teach numerous students
of varying ages each week, equipping them with valuable
musical skills that will last a lifetime.

We are passionate about training our students to create and enjoy
music at home, in their schools, and in their local churches.
All students participate in yearly recitals
and in many state-wide competitions.

Our Story

At Woodridge Music Studio, we believe that a child’s music education should begin early in life, and we are proud to bring that vision to the central Indiana community. Located in the heart of Martinsville, Indiana, our studio has been a trusted destination for quality music instruction since 1990. As a premier music school serving students across central Indiana, we are dedicated to nurturing creativity, building confidence, and inspiring a lifelong love of music in every individual who walks through our doors.

We are an all-ages, all-levels music studio that welcomes everyone—from preschoolers just beginning their musical journey to adults rediscovering a passion for music. Our experienced instructors provide expert guidance in a wide range of instruments and disciplines, including piano, violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet, cello, and voice. Whether you’re interested in beginner music lessons or looking to refine advanced techniques, our personalized approach ensures each student receives instruction tailored to their unique goals, interests, and learning style.

At Woodridge Music Studio, flexibility matters. We understand that life can be busy, which is why we offer scheduling options designed to fit seamlessly into your routine. In addition to private, in-person lessons, we provide convenient online music lessons (excluding vocal instruction), allowing students to learn from the comfort of their own home while still receiving the same high-quality education. We also offer group music lessons, instrumental and vocal ensemble opportunities, and specialized programs such as preschool music classes, adult lessons, and engaging summer programs.

To support every step of your musical journey, we provide instrument rentals and a carefully curated selection of lesson materials. From piano and classical music books to instrument-specific resources for flute, clarinet, violin, trumpet, and voice, as well as children’s music books, we ensure our students have access to the tools they need to succeed and grow.

What ages do you offer music lessons for?
We proudly offer music lessons for all ages, starting with preschool-aged children and continuing through teens and adults. Whether your child is just beginning or you’re an adult looking to start or return to music, we have programs designed to fit every stage of life and skill level.
Do I need any prior experience to start lessons?
Not at all! We welcome complete beginners as well as advanced musicians. Our instructors tailor each lesson to the student’s experience level, ensuring a comfortable and supportive learning environment from the very first session.
What instruments do you teach?
We offer instruction in a variety of instruments, including piano, violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet, cello, and voice. We also provide both private and group lesson options, as well as ensemble opportunities for students who want to perform with others.
Do you offer online lessons?
Yes, we provide convenient online music lessons for most instruments, allowing students to learn from home. Please note that vocal lessons are currently only offered in person to ensure the best possible instruction and technique development.
Do I need to own an instrument before starting lessons?
No, you don’t need to purchase an instrument right away. We offer instrument rentals to help students get started without a large upfront investment. Our team can also guide you in selecting the right instrument when you’re ready.
Are there performance opportunities for students?
Absolutely! We host recitals, community events, and ensemble performances throughout the year. These opportunities help students build confidence, showcase their progress, and enjoy the experience of performing in a supportive setting.
How flexible is your scheduling?
We understand that families and individuals have busy schedules, so we strive to offer flexible lesson times. Our team will work with you to find a time that fits your routine, whether you prefer in-person or online instruction.
